Dylan is on Amoxicilin for a puncture wound on his foot. He gets upset belly when he takes them so I want to give him some Pepcid AC. He takes them 3x a day, so when is the best time to give ABX?
No, Pepcid AC is not the same as Flagyl and will not treat diarrhea. It is an anti-acid, to help reduce stomach acid. IMMODIUM does treat diarrhea, and can be given to dogs if needed. You can give one tablet every eight hours (*per my former vet/employer).

Occasionally a vet will suggest it for mild diarrhea -- if the stomach is too acidic, diarrhea can result, and Pepcid can take the edge off of that. The vet says to give Pepcid AC 10mg 2 times daily, before meals.
